NorDigHE highlighted by Healthcare Denmark

We are proud that NorDigHE is featured in Healthcare Denmark’s recent publication Innovative Hospital Services in Denmark, which showcases Denmark’s vision for the future of healthcare.

The publication serves as Denmark’s official international showcase, demonstrating how the country is working with innovation, digitalisation, and collaboration to transform its healthcare system.

NorDigHE is presented as a concrete example of how Nordic cooperation and digital solutions can enhance both the quality and coherence of healthcare – to the benefit of patients and society.

Pilot Project - Copenhagen University of Applied Sciences - February 2025

In February 2025, Copenhagen University College launched a new optional component called "Home Admission," with its foundation based on NorDigHE. This is a pilot project that offers a course where nursing students have the opportunity to learn about the future healthcare system, with a focus on home treatment. Forty nursing students are participating in the trial of the course, which combines theory and tasks to prepare them to work with home admission programs.

NorDigHE Forum 2025

In NorDigHE, we started the new year by holding the first NorDigHE Forum, and it was with great pleasure that we welcomed both consortium members and interested colleagues from all over Scandinavia to the event, which took place on January 14-15 in Copenhagen.

The consortium members met on Tuesday for a workshop on the upcoming pilot test of the first version of the NorDigHE education and ended the day with a reception to celebrate the completion of the education, which students at Copenhagen University College, Østfold University College, and Lund University will complete and evaluate during the spring of 2025.

Day two began with the second meeting of NorDigHE’s steering committee, after which we initiated NorDigHE’s first general assembly. Following the general assembly, a mini-conference was held with exciting presentations about the consortium’s work process, the content of the education, and the follow-up research being conducted both within the consortium and by research colleagues working on other exciting HaH projects.

We are incredibly pleased with the dedicated network within and around NorDigHE, and we thank all participants – both in person and online – for the inspiring dialogues and important discussions that filled the days. Below, you can see a recording of the mini-conference.

Physical NorDigHE Workshop in Lund - September 2024

On September 10-11, 2024, the consortium held a physical 2-days workshop in Lund. The focus was on design testing, pilot testing, other research portfolios, as well as content elements and coherence in the education.

Main Points and Decisions:

Design Test: Planned for spring 2025. The instruments in the test will be used in English. The LU group is working on completing the protocol, obtaining ethics approval, and launching the test.

Pre-Pilot Test and Pilot Test: KP will conduct a pre-pilot test for module 3 in the fall of 2024 to improve user-friendliness. The pilot test will take place from spring 2025.

Module Development: Each module lead will adjust the content based on feedback, focusing on ensuring consistency and alignment with the HaH consensus definition, as well as practical relevance.

Transverse Work:

Quiz Group: A quiz group is working intensively to streamline quizzes.

New Groups: A clinical and a pedagogical review group have been established to ensure the clinical relevance and pedagogical quality of the modules.

Language: It was decided that all content must be translated and available in Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish by January 1, 2025.

The workshop participants also discussed how the themes of "hygiene and working environment" in the patient's home could be better integrated into the modules.

Thanks to everyone who participated for making it a great workshop!

Film Days in Denmark, Sweden and Norway - June 2024

Intro and outro videos for all 5 modules of the education program were filmed in June 2024 in Frederikstad, Lund, and Copenhagen. The purpose of the films is to introduce the course participants to the upcoming course and then to end and summarize the content of the course.

Below is a snapshot of a successful film day at Copenhagen University College, where Skillhabit was behind the camera and Chief Physician Thyge Lynghøj Nielsen from Nordsjællands Hospital was in front of the camera.

The result has been great, and we are looking forward to seeing the final films for the modules.

Presentation of NorDigHE by Copenhagen University of Applied Sciences at the 31st Annual Network Meeting in Florence (FNAM24) – April 2024

The theme in Larisa, Greece, was "Strengthening resilience through educational and digital innovation." The Florence Network aims to enhance the quality of European higher education in nursing and midwifery through international cooperation in education, research, and development. In doing so, the network strives to improve the image of the nursing and midwifery professions and the quality of European healthcare.

Project participant Lasse Overballe Nielsen from Copenhagen University College represented NorDigHE with an abstract and presentation. The presentation was based on work package 2, which Copenhagen University College has led. This work package focused on the development of the educational structure, learning outcomes, pedagogical reflections, and the development of a competence profile for the education.

At the same time, participation in this annual meeting confirmed that the focus on digitalization and education in this area is highly relevant across the participating educational institutions.

Presentation of NorDigHE from Østfold University College - March 21, 2024

The project was presented by Vigdis, Ann Karin, and Tina during the professional lunch for SHB (Department of Nursing, Health, and Bioengineering).

The purpose was to provide a brief overview of NorDigHE and to encourage the use of Østfold University College (HVO) as an arena for the development and testing of the education. We discussed NorDigHE's training program, the collaborating partners, the work packages (WP), where we currently stand in the project, and future plans. We also covered the structure of the course/education, the different modules, and the various learning methods (e-learning, games, quizzes, etc.). Finally, we expressed our hopes for the teacher's college at SHB to participate in the trial, as well as for nursing students (and master’s students) to be involved.

User workshop in Copenhagen - October 2023

Location: Copenhagen, October 26, 2023

In October 2023, NorDigHE held a user workshop at Copenhagen University College. Participants used the facilitation tool CoNavigator to collaborate across professional groups, companies, and countries. The group discussed the necessary competencies NorDigHE must ensure, both clinical and digital.

The workshop resulted in concrete, application-oriented ideas while also highlighting blind spots and preconceptions about the project. Innovation consultants Nini Høgstrup and Jakob Hedegaard provided a tour of Copenhagen University College's Practice and Innovation House, which offers facilities that simulate real-world hospital and care sector settings. This is a tool that Copenhagen University College will draw upon in its work with NorDigHE.
